Join the Pittsburgh Youth Concert Orchestra in a rewarding five-day immersive program designed to provide band, string orchestra, and symphony orchestra playing opportunities to students ages 10 to 14 who play string, woodwind, brass and percussion instruments! PYCO welcomes returning and prospective members to play challenging and engaging repertoire in keeping with our tradition of excellence in a friendly and welcoming environment.
PYCO Band & Symphony Orchestra Camp At-a-Glance
Dates:
- Monday, June 22 - Friday, June 26, 2026
- Camp Concert on June 26th at noon, followed by a light reception
Times:
- Monday-Thursday: 9 am to 2 pm
- Friday: 9 am to the end of the concert

- Monday-Friday: PYCO School of Music, 150 Lake Drive, Suite 103, Wexford, PA 15090
- Friday Concert: TBD
Tuition
- Early Bird tuition is $345 with registration and payment submitted by May 22nd, 2026.
- Regular Camp tuition is $395

- Additional children in the same family receive a sibling discount of 10%. For example, a family with 2 children participating in the camp would pay $395 for the first child, and $355.50 for the second child, totaling $750.50.
- $25 of your tuition payment is non-refundable to help cover administrative costs and will be kept in the event that your child is no longer able to participate in the PYCO Band & Orchestra Camp for any reason. No refunds will be given as of Sunday, May 31st, 2026.
- Tuition Scholarship: At PYCO, we never want tuition costs to be a barrier to participation. If you think you will have difficulty paying summer camp tuition, please fill out our short scholarship application HERE, and a flexible payment plan or financial aid will be arranged. Scholarships are determined individually based on need.
Video Submission:
- An audition for admission to the camp is not required. However, to be able to determine your playing level and part assignment, we ask you to submit a 2-4 minute video recording of your playing, demonstrating your best technical and musical abilities. Consult with your teacher for the best music selection for your recording.
- Please submit your recording no later than Monday, June 8th.
- Students who are members of any PYCO Ensemble do not need to submit a recording.

Camp Activities Include:
- Daily Sectional Rehearsals and Full Ensemble Rehearsals
- String students will participate in both String Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra
- Woodwind, Brass & Percussion students will participate in both Band and Symphony Orchestra
- Music Enrichment Classes
- Recreational activities including a water balloon toss (weather permitting)
- Camp Concert on Friday at Noon with reception to follow - free and open to the public!
