Max Herrmann, Junior Coach
Max Herrmann is a Violinist living in the Pittsburgh area studying with Charles and Rachel Stegeman, and performing with orchestras such as the Johnstown Symphony, Youngstown Symphony, Wheeling Symphony, and the Butler Symphony. Originally from Arlington Virginia, Max began his studies at the Levine School of Music at the age of 6, and 10 years later took first prize in the 2017 Ruth P. Cogen Concerto Competition. Max also worked with the Arlington Philharmonic youth program from grade 6 to grade 12, as the first violinist of his quartet, where he gathered extensive chamber music experience. He also participated in Chautauqua summer music camps for many years, and was concertmaster of the Cumberland orchestra at the Sewanee summer music festival in 2018. Recently, Max competed in the 2022 New York Laureate International Music Competition, performing Claude Debussy's violin sonata and winning second prize in the senior division.
