PYCO Symphony Orchestra - String Seating Audition Excerpts
For April 28, 2024 Concert
To avoid server overload, PYCO Symphony Video Audition Due Dates are staggered as follows:
CELLOS: due by Wednesday, April 3 @ 9 pm
VIOLAS & BASSES: due by Thursday, April 4th @ 9 pm
VIOLIN 1: due by Friday, April 5th @ 9 pm
VIOLIN 2: due by Saturday, April 6th @ 3 pm
Recordings should be video (not audio-only) - Video MUST show the student’s face, entire fingerboard and bow arm. Please have the student say their name at the beginning of the video.
Please use brackets to mark the excerpt selections below in your music. This is a condensed list of the passages in your music that have been identified as particularly difficult. These selections require dedicated personal practice time and professional help from your teacher. However, remember that at the concert you will play ALL the excerpts! For divisis play the highest part unless otherwise specified.
While you are expected to prepare all of the listed excerpts, only 4 excerpts from this list will be required for the recorded audition. The excerpts to be recorded will be sent via email one week before their due dates.
